The big freeze is slowly over at the Basecamp Andermatt. Last weeks the temperature dropped over night below -25´C and with the windchill-effect it was well below -35´C. Our new insulation and geothermal heating was tested at the outmost hardest conditions. It proved to be reliable and the rooms and the hostel was cozy and warm.

Sunny weather on the southside of the Alps is a good reason to take the 30min drive to Airolo from Basecamp Andermatt. Over the Gothard pass and away from the trafficjam in the tunnel.
